Very beautiful French Limousine, in red painted sheet metal with gold fillets attributed to : Eugène PINARD 21, rue Charlot - 75003 PARIS It dates from 1900-1910, has retained its upholstery and luggage rack, and is driven by a driver in original oilskin and cap, with a cookie head, his passenger is a young woman carrying a baby in her arms. The rear passenger compartment is covered by a folding oilcloth and the equipment consists of a horn, two brake handles and two front lanterns, one of which is missing. The wheels are with tires and the rims painted in red are with 8 spokes. The engine with key is located between the 2 rear ones but the spring is unhooked. Dimensions: 47 x 26 x 18 cm The set is original and in a very good condition. The luxury car of the 1900's could have a driver and its size reserved for it the privilege of a garage space also called "GRANDE REMISE". This term was reserved for luxury cars driven by the owner or his attendant. There is also the term " PETITE REMISE " for vehicles made available to customers in exchange for payment in certain areas where the supply of cabs is low or non-existent. In the vicinity of the Louvre under the Ancien Régime, there was a "GRANDE REMISE" and a "PETITE REMISE" depending on the size of the carriages and the quality of the people transported. The model presented here is one of those entitled "GRANDE REMISE".
