Charlotte PERRIAND (1903-1999) Bed of rest in oak called "Pavillon du Brésil", with rectangular profiled structure resting on 4 cylindrical feet of type logs. Base in oak plywood. (Cracked bottom and traces of glue, wear, discolorations, scratches) H. 26.5 cm ; W. 194.7 cm ; D. 85 cm. Circa 1960 Note : This model of bed was made for the Pavillon du Brésil of the Cité Universitaire Internationale de Paris, built by the architect Lucio Costa. The latter will call on Le Corbusier, assisted by Charlotte Perriand to realize the arrangement of the rooms of the residence, she designed a wooden bed serving as a sofa during the day. The House of Brazil will be inaugurated on June 24, 1959.
