Hubert Yencesse (1900-1987) Bather Plaster proof Signed "HUBERT YENCESSE". Inscribed "EPREUVE D'ARTISTE". H. 43 cm Provenance: Private collection, Paris; by descent Born into an artistic family, Hubert Yencesse studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Dijon from 1919, where he met François Pompon and became his pupil. Awarded the Blumenthal Prize in 1934, he moved to Paris and worked with Aristide Maillol until 1936. He received numerous public commissions throughout his career and also taught at the Beaux-Arts de Paris.
