Joseph Erhardy (1928-2012) L'Arc Model created in 1978 Bronze with brown patina Signed and dated "Ehrardy 77". Bears a foundry stamp "VENTURI ARTE / CERA PERSA / BOLINA". Numbered "4/8 H. 16.5 cm Provenance: Private collection, Paris; By descent Joseph Erhardy trained at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., then, with the benefit of the G.I. Bill, in Europe, where he joined the Florence Academy of Fine Arts and became Mirko Basaldella's assistant in Rome. In 1952, Joseph Erhardy moved to Paris, where he frequented Ossip Zadkine's studio at La Grande Chaumière. In the 1960s, he abandoned abstract sculpture for a return to figuration, marked by the Nouvelle Figuration movement.
