Rare "Delvigne" system percussion pocket pistol, single shot - Lot 121
Rare "Delvigne" system percussion pocket pistol, single shot, 9 mm caliber. Rifled barrel engraved on top with "INVon Delvigne". Dog and frame chased in the shape of a fantastic animal. Hardened and blackened rubber stock, carved with foliage and animals, marked LEPAGE Fres A PARIS SEULS DEPOSITAIRES. Rod embedded in the stock. Length : 10 cm B.E. Circa 1855-1860. Presented in a later case with accessories, one slot for an empty DELVIGNE. Henri Gustave DELVIGNE (1800-1876), harquebusier and inventor in Paris. Along with Chamelot, he invented the 1873 revolver.
