Rare KUHN test model swivel breech percussion pistol, 8 mm c - Lot 140
Rare KUHN test model swivel breech percussion pistol, 8 mm caliber. Fluted barrel. Key-opening rear breech, breech-loading with side-tilting breech. Right-hand side firing pin. Finger rest and clamshell trigger guard. Bronze finish. Light walnut stock (cracked). Length: 31 cm. Missing rear sight. A.B.E. Circa 1860 Presented in a later case with powder flask, oiler, rod and screwdriver. Kuhn arquebusier in Besançon from 1860 to 1875. He patented an "atmospheric" pistol and worked on improving breech-loading weapons and systems derived from the Rolling Block. A similar pistol, signed Kuhn, from the collection of Mr. F, Drouot sale (Maître Digard), April 7, 2006, no. 123, expert M. Dey.
